# SMS, e-Mail,  Social Networking Links Or Instant Messaging Services To Use Today

In today's world what text contacting service should you use ?

I would say it depends on what you want to achieve, but as minimalists:

# Number One
Probably the only one service that is mandatory to a degree, is email. Way ? again, because certain vital services you have to use can't exist (for you) without getting identified with an email address. Things like banks, service providers, home bills, internet, etc.

# Number Two
The other one equally important these days is SMS service. You simply can't live without this feature of new modern cell/smart phones. Same services mentioned above uses your real phone number to send verification codes, to know it's you who tries to connect to their webpages or to enable transactions.

# Number Three
None. That's it, no number three, social networking and IM services like FB Messenger adds little value to today's life in my opinion. Even if you have a business, you're better of with an email, phone, website, because the purpose of social networking business is to keep you on their platform and not to make your business succeed.

## CONCLUSION AND FINAL THOUGHT:
- You can't do anything without an email address.
- You might be able to fake a phoneline/sms with those apps that gives you a (free) phone number that can (sometimes) receive verification SMS's. But better if you get a prepaid cell plan for real sms/phone number and use wifi when available and when you need internet on the phone. 

That is minimalist enough - 2 contact services - one free, one cheap.
