# All my consumables that I need as a minimalist A consumable is an item that will not be in your possession for too long due to its nature or purpose. They have a relative short lifetime ranging from 1 day up to 10 years or more. Some consumables never expire for example salt. Most consumables are food related and are easily replaceable and found almost everywhere. Below is the list that I use and consider essential: ## Non food related - batteries - only AA, ideally would be rechargeable - duct tape - superglue - alcohol - bandaids and sterile bandages - money :) - sometimes screws, paint or some repair materials like thread ## hygiene - baking soda - hydrogen peroxide 3% - essential oils (tea tree, eucalyptus, lavender, clove, oregano, ) - soap bar - razor blades - laundry detergent ## Food related - nuts and seeds (cheea seeds , pumpkin seeds, flax seeds, almonds, Brazil nuts, cashew nuts) - veggies (avocado, brown rice, quinoa, potatoes, onions, garlic, carrots, cucumbers, eggplants, tomatoes, peppers, cabbage, cauliflower, kales, lettuce, spinach, olives, herbs) - beans, chickpeas - fruits (berries, apples, oranges, grapes) - whole grains flour - salt and spices - apple cider vinegar - eggs - fish and seafood - olive oil - coconut oil - honey - cocoa or dark chocolate - green tea leaves - supplements (vitamin B12, D3, K2, DHA omega 3, Magnesium) For most of the food related, a fridge and freezer is needed. Canned versions exist but not that healthy. For travelling, home made sandwiches are the best. Second best are trail mixes and nut bars. Last resort is vegan fast food.
